What is Perkeso EIS
The Employment Insurance System (EIS) was established on January 1, 2018, to provide income replacement for Insured Persons (IPs) who experience job loss. IPs applying for EIS will receive job placement assistance from Employment Services Officers (ESOs). As part of the job search process, IPs are required to register with MyFutureJobs, where they will be matched with suitable job vacancies. Additionally, IPs may choose to attend skills training sessions while unemployed or after securing new employment, which forms part of EIS’s active labor market programs.

EIS benefits and eligibility
Insured Persons (IPs) are eligible to receive EIS benefits if they meet the following criteria: Submit their application within 60 days from the date of job loss. Fulfill contribution eligibility requirements, such as having sufficient contributions. Are unemployed as defined under the EIS Act.

Lost of Employment (LOE)
- According to the definition of LOE under Act 800.
- Normal termination of employment (Retrenchment)
- Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) or Mutual Separation Scheme (MSS)
- Closure of the workplace due to natural disasters (force majeure)
- Bankruptcy or business closure
- Constructive dismissal
- Resignation due to sexual harassment or workplace threats
- Resignation resulting from being assigned tasks outside the job scope that endanger safety
Not considered as LOE
- Termination of employment due to employee misconduct.
- Voluntary resignation.
- Mandatory retirement.
- Expiry of the employment contract, completion of work, or termination of the employment contract by mutual agreement without specific terms and conditions.
